Sanitizing & Disinfecting Service for Your Home & Office

Hardwood Revival is well-known for our wood floor installation and refinishing services, but we also can help people with wood floors to disinfect their homes and offices. Today, with the active threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), disinfecting is part of defending yourself against the virus. It is more than just cleaning.

A Step Above Cleaning

We all know what cleaning is – it is using soap and water or detergent to remove soiling, like food spills, dust, or dirt, that you can see on a surface, like a countertop, couch, or floor. Sanitizing and disinfecting are different than cleaning. They go a level deeper, to get rid of bacteria, fungi, and viruses you can’t see, that can stay on surfaces even when they look perfectly clean.

Disinfecting affected surfaces can mean the difference between spreading the virus further or protecting your family or workers from infection. It has been shown that this virus can live for days on hard surfaces, so it may be possible to catch Coronavirus without being in direct contact with someone who is contagious, as long as someone was there recently.

Disinfecting Keeps Us Healthy

Even though the current concern is with COVID-19, disinfecting can protect you from a list of other illnesses. These include Legionella pneumophila, H1N1 (Swine Flu), Salmonella, Tuberculosis, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Listeria, E Coli, Staph, Strept, Norovirus, Parvo, allergens, mold, and mildew.

Sanitizing and disinfecting are slightly different. While sanitizing can really reduce the amount and growth of viruses, bacteria, and mold, disinfecting kills them.

Our Service

Hardwood Revival can provide disinfecting services in both residential and commercial settings, both indoors and outdoors. Whether in a house or an apartment, an office or a community center, our fast and cost-effective process is an important part of the very necessary Coronavirus disinfection. It is safe and effective for all kinds of surfaces, including hardwood floors, tiled floors and countertops, other surfaces (like tables and desks), HVAC systems, and air duct systems. Disinfecting also kills many odor-causing microbes, so it has a significant deodorizing effect.

How We Disinfect

Our expert team is specially trained in how to use an electric ULV cold fogger to disinfect large areas with excellent coverage. This equipment makes tiny droplets of a professional grade, hospital grade disinfectant, which is EPA approved for use against COVID-19. The machinery blows this fine mist in the direction that the technician directs the hose, for fast and easy coverage of large areas in a brief time. Our team can wipe surfaces manually with disinfectant products should the situation require it. For safety’s sake, our techs wear chemical protective suits, gloves, and masks, while applying the disinfectant.

This process is non-caustic and non-corrosive, so it will not damage hardwood floors. The disinfectant we use is designed for use in health care facilities, and is completely safe, non-toxic, allergen-free, fragrance free, and most of all effective.
